MCA Trips

Welcome to MCA trips! A few important things to know...

  • We have trips for all abilities - from beginner through advanced levels.
  • You do not need to take any of our classes as prerequisites for a trip.
  • Important - You need to have appropriate experience for the trip you which are participating. The MCA is not a guiding service. If you want to climb and have no experience, there are excellent guiding companies in the area that will be happy to provide instruction, some gear, and a chance for a summit.

Getting started
If you’re new to the MCA and interested in participating in a club trip check out the Events Calendar. If you are unsure as to the distance, difficulty, or route refer to the trip classifications and/or contact the trip leader. To sign-up for a trip attend a monthly meeting or contact the trip leader. If you are not able to attend a trip please contact the trip leader at least 24 hours in advance.

Learning the ropes
Want to learn more climbing skills? We offer beginning through advanced classes in rock climbing, mountaineering, crevasse rescue, rock anchors, ski mountaineering and more. See the training pages for details.

Trip Leadership
All of our trips are led by dedicated volunteers, who go through trip leader training seminar. We’d be glad to consider you. Please contact the Hiking & Climbing Chairperson if interested.

MCA Sactioned Trip Policy
The MCA has a specific policy regarding club sanctioned trips. If you would like to read the complete policy please download a copy.
